Swansea Campaign for Real Ale has launched a new event to encourage pub goers to visit the increasingly large number of real ale pubs in the area.
Some 16 local pubs are taking part in the event, which will take place over the next nine weeks.
“There are many excellent pubs serving a wide variety of cask ales in the Swansea area, so as part of our quest to promote real ale and support local pubs, we are launching the Swansea Ale Trail,” said chairman Colin Smith.
“We are inviting pub goers to take part, and 16 pubs are ready to welcome you. All you have to do is visit at least 12 of them between 21 September and 25 November to win a prize.”
Pick up a booklet/passport in any of the pubs and get it stamped when you buy at least a half of real ale or cider. When your booklet is full, send it off to Camra to claim your prize.
Twelve stamps will get you an Ale Trail T-shirt and all 16 stamps will also get you entered into a prize draw to win a slap up meal for two at The Woodman or a brewery trip for the winner and three friends.
Participating pubs are:
Queen’s Hotel – Swansea, No Sign Bar – Swansea, Westbourne – Swansea, Village Inn – Killay, Railway Inn – Killay, Greyhound – Oldwalls, Dolphin Inn – Llanrhidian, Welcome to Town – Llanrhidian, Woodman – Blackpill, Plough & Harrow – Murton, Joiner’s Arms – Bishopston, Valley – Bishopston, Victoria Inn – Mumbles, Park Inn – Mumbles, Mumbles Ale House, Pilot Inn – Mumbles.
Please note: some pubs may refuse to issue stamps after 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays if they are very busy. Only one booklet per person (in person) will be stamped.
