We are going to have our very first Real Ale and Cider Festival here at The Brit in Cwmavon on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th June, writes Heidel Campbell. Considering when we opened no pubs in the local area did more than one Real Ale on tap it has been refreshing to see so many ale drinkers come out of the woodwork. We have even been converting a few lager drinkers to a pint of the good stuff and have been pleasantly surprised at people’s reactions.
So on that note we thought it wise to try and get more people trying various Ales and Ciders and what better way than to have a good old fashioned Beer Fest!
Since we opened The Brit in Sept 2014 we have always had 5 Real Ales on tap as well as one Cider (Stowford Press) For the Real Ale Festival we shall be getting another 5 Ales to try and at least three more Ciders and one Perry.
The lovely people at The Cross Inn Pub in Maesteg who own Cerddin Brewery have kindly offered to help with our first event which is fantastic and seeing how popular their Ales have been we shall definitely be pleased to have a few of their great Beers on offer.
The restaurant shall be open as usual for anyone wanting to come and try some of the food from our fabulous new menu. We shall also have some tasty pies on the go for those who would rather not take up too much beer room in their stomachs!
So come on down and tell all your friends. We are also hoping to have some acoustic music over the weekend. To keep up to date with any finer details about the event we shall be posting on Facebook nearer the time.
See ya there folks.
