Three Swansea breweries are celebrating getting their ales into CAMRA’s biggest beer event, The Great British Beer Festival, which is being held at London’s Olympia from August 9th – 13th.
All of Britain’s 1400+ breweries are keen to get their brews on the beer list at GBBF, but even though the event features close to 500 breweries, that still gives only a 1 in 3 chance of making it.
Three Swansea breweries that have started up in recent years are Gower, Mumbles and Boss, and with nominations and support from Swansea CAMRA branch, all three have been successful. GBBF drinkers will therefore get to taste Gower Gold, Mumbles Oystermouth Stout, and Boss Black.
Boss are also celebrating winning a Bronze award in the National Wheat Beer competition at the Imbibe event in Olympia, with their Bix wheat beer.
Chris Radford, the Swansea Festival organiser, said: “To get all three of the breweries into GBBF is a terrific success for Swansea and the branch. They are all supporters and sponsors of our festival, so it’s great for the branch to work with them and help them achieve this.”
Beers from all three breweries will also be on tap at the Swansea Bay Beer & Cider Festival at the Brangwyn Hall from 25th – 27th August.
