Mike Owen of Tiny Rebel (left) and Dave Campbell of Gower Brewery receive their awards for Swansea Camra Beer of the Festival 2015.
Members of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot Campaign for Real Ale celebrated the success of this year’s record-breaking beer and cider festival with a gathering at the No Sign Wine Bar, Wind Street, Swansea, last night.
During the evening, the awards for Beer of the Festival were presented to Dave Campbell of Gower Brewery and Mike Owen of Tiny Rebel Brewery, by festival chairman Chris Radford.
The brewers tied for the award, which was decided in a vote by visitors to Swansea Camra Beer & Cider Festival on August 27-29 at the Brangwyn Hall. Real ale fans gave equal votes to Gower Gold and Tiny Rebel Cwtch.
During the party, members sampled the winning beers straight from the cask and a splendid buffet put on by the No Sign staff. Rod and Karen Undy of the Mumbles Ale House also donated a cask of Oakham Citra to the party.
“Thanks very much to Rod and Karen and also to Becky of the No Sign who did us proud once again with an excellent and mountainous buffet, which defied all efforts to finish it. We were most grateful to Becky for her generosity in supporting us with this event,” said Chris Radford.
