Swansea Camra members turned out in force to see Gary Owen, landlord of the Queens Hotel in Gloucester Place, receive the 2017 Pub of the Year award.

Paul James, branch chairman, presented Gary with the award at a ceremony on Saturday.

The corner pub that’s famous for its warm welcome, notorious past and perfect pint of Old Peculier, has been run by Gary and his staff for the past 15 years.

Gary said: “I’m delighted to think that Camra members consider us worthy of this accolade. It’s a real boost to us.”
